On this website, the poppy appears frequently, as a kind of image carrier, because a number of characteristics of the poppy, we see back in victims / survivors of SRM:
The poppy needs light (from God) and warmth (from people) to come alive after the cold period of winter (life in the cult). Poppies close up for a while when it gets dark, but with new light they open up again.
Poppies germinate especially in disturbed, nutrient-poor soil, such as on the battlefields of WWI and where new roads are being built (they are thus ''pioneer plants''). The seed can remain in the soil for decades without losing its ability to germinate. Poppies sow vigorously. They close at night and open again through light. The colour red stands for love as well as blood. Finally, the poppy is vulnerable; in it, helpers and victims know themselves to be united and seek the grace and protection of Jesus Christ.
