Motion
As a foundation, Friends of Esthers is an organisation, but more importantly a movement: people moving to help survivors of srm recover. We are grateful that you are currently moving by reading this newsletter, and then maybe want to point it out to others. It helps!
Priorities 2026
In the Friends of Esthers core team, we have identified three priorities for this year. We want to make strides in these in 2026, while giving plenty of time and attention to survivors, who are walking the long and arduous journey of release from cult and trauma.
• More treatment support
Increase capacity and skills so that we can offer (more) survivors more help in their recovery
We would love to meet people who want to learn to take on a task in this!
• Safe environment for a survivor
How can a situation be improved when the cult attacks survivors who want to get out in so many evil ways?
- Healthy team culture
The core team is enormously moved and active by the great need of survivors and the need for intensive help. What does each person individually and in the team need to sustain this long term? And what core values do we also consider important in the larger Friends of Esthers network?
Farm news
When this newsletter comes out, we have just celebrated ‘’one and a half years of Hoeve’’. It is a special place to work and live together! Every season we residents have now experienced at least once, from beautiful apples growing on the trees to (almost) skating on the pond. Two of us took a fruit tree pruning course; and to help us slip less during the many days of snow, our neighbour helped us clear our path of snow with his snow plough. In the previous newsletter, we wrote about the disturbed balance as our cats had disappeared. Fortunately, two cats have been found alive; however, they clearly have less desire to go outside.
This is how we grow together and individually to persevere, on the long road of recovery for survivors.
Christmas Eve prayer
We reported in the previous newsletter that, for the first time, we planned to gather with a group on Christmas Eve to pray for survivors who experience a lot of cult pressure around and on Christmas. This took some getting used to, but was a good experience for those who attended and is likely to be continued. Around Easter, a prayer group will meet again to pray together.
New blogs and articles on the sites
When it comes to media publications and statements, it always requires wisdom and care to put the interests of (and possible harm to) survivors first in taking steps. This limits us in collaborating on articles and documentaries. Here is a blog dedicated to it.
Months ago, we wrote an open letter to the EO following the staggeringly bad documentary ‘The Conspiracy’. To this they sent a response, which you can read together with our reply and their response to it here can read.
Regularly in the media - as in this docu - the claim pops up that there would be no evidence of ritual abuse. In the article ‘recent investigation shows hard evidence of ritual abuse again'' this is refuted.
Sometimes we do bring what the cult does to our survivors into the open, to make it safer for them. You can read why we do that on the Lichtopsrm.co.uk site. The latest update can be found at blog survivors.
Finally, an article entitled ‘Whose crime is this?’. It highlights the sinister ways in which cult tries to incite (parts of) survivors to commit crimes and the motives behind them.
Growth in carrying capacity
To make the growth in treatments financially possible, we hope and pray that monthly donations will increase by 1,500 euros per month this year. Are you praying (or doing) in this?
Helping out
Anyone who would like to get more involved in our work and thus become a ”Friends-of-Esthers”, we would like to meet both at an information evening and then also at the mini-course. This deepens your considerations and you can better discover which (big or small) task would be something for you. We hope to meet you soon at one of our evenings, if you haven't already attended one!
Dates info evenings and mini-courses
- Tuesday, 7 April 2026: Information evening in Amsterdam
- Tuesday, May 19, 2026: Information evening (location to be determined)
- Tuesday 9 and 16 June 2026: Minicourse Amsterdam (the second date is a continuation of the first date)
- Tuesday 30 June and 14 July 2026: Mini course Rijssen (the second date is a continuation of the first date)
You can sign up for these evenings by clicking on the contact page of lichtoplevens.nl at the contact form that you would like to participate in a meeting. After registering, you will also receive the exact location of the meeting.
An extraordinary statement from Paul in his letter to the Philippians, chapter 4:13. Paul looks realistically at difficult life circumstances as well as people's help and then says: All things I can handle through Christ, who gives me strength. We also seek and experience this strength in our work.
